Maryland Prepares for COVID Spike

Montgomery County is preparing for a large COVID spike during and after election day. Polling stations are stocking up on sanitary equiptment and thinking of new ways of social distancing when people are in line, as well as getting creative with mail-in voting. The crowded indoor polling stations are now a thing of the past and outdoor booths are in. They are being waterproofed and are gaining more and more anti-theft/anti-hacking techniques.

These new booths are set up to be able to be placed anywhere and have success. They are large so they can be easily spotted and can’t be picked up and carried off. Montgomery County staff will be weilding hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray and will be policing the crowd about their masks and social distancing throughout the whole voting process.
