Plans for Pfizer, the Hopeful 1st COVID-19 Vaccine

In 1849, the drug company, Pfizer, was founded in New York by Charlie Pfizer and Charles Erhart. Pfizer and Erhart’s discovery led to the ability to aid wounded soldiers in the Civil War through the use of necessary drugs. Today, Pfizer is the talk of the media largely due to the fact that the company may be the first COVID-19 vaccine approved by the F.D.A. Pfizer is currently in the final stage of processing and experimenting before seeking approval from the F.D.A. Their current plan, as of this past week, is to have the drug be distributed in early 2021, with a fair amount of the population to have been vaccinated by the Spring. After Pfizer reported that their vaccine is 90% effective, a leading expert, Dr. Fauci stated that this news was “just extraordinary and would “have a major impact on everything that we do with regard to COVID.”
