How to make millions on Tik Tok

With 680 million monthly active users, Tik Tok was one of the most used apps in 2020. Tik took was created in September of 2017 and within the last couple of years has completely changed the social media world. With the For You Page, many people are able to get their videos featured and viewed by millions. This new aspect of TIk Tok is the reason some people such as Charli Damelo, Addison Rae, Josh Richards and Bryce Hall have all become so successful. They make millions of dollars off of a simple double-tap to take a video. With Tik Tok creators who have 1 million or more followers can get paid $1,000 to $5,000+ a month and some of the most followed creators could make up to 1 million dollars per post.

The app was launched from Beijing China in 2016 as Douyin but was launched in the international market in September of 2017. However, in 2020 there were many lawsuits that the Chinese government was using this app as a way to spy on US civilians and gain access to information through our phones. This caused a lot of worries amongst the US population and aseptically Tik Tok stars whose lives and income all were based around tik tok. The US never went through and banned the app, but Pakistan did as in hopes to protect its civilians. Although Tik Tok was not the first original app where billions of videos were viewed per day, it has made millions of dollars off of profit and given a social media platform to thousands. The original app was called Musical.ly which started in Shanghai in 2014 and then Tik Tok bought it and relaunched it across the globe.

Just making a 15-second video and posting it has been known to go completely viral. Even one of our own Severn students, William Dickinson seems to get tons of views on his videos. His highest viewed video was 429.0K and 73.8K likes. In this video, he is accompanied by more Severn students, Cole Keefer, Davis Cawfield, and Mason Ervin.
