Open Mic Night Review
By Kyle Russell '20
This years open mic night was absolutely spectacular! Over a dozen acts were performed in front of a crowd over 150 people. Here’s a quick list of the acts:
-Will McCollum and Quinn Roes kicked off the night by singing “Say Something” by A Great Big World.
-Pilar Ebel sang “Yesterday” by The Beatles.
-Meghan Chu had three acts, including “Kids in the Dark” by All Time Low, “Is There Someone” by Halsey, and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” by Green Day.
-Emilia Stirling performed two different songs: “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes and “Jameson” by Zella Day.
-Matthew Beagan played “Bron-Yr-Aur” by Led Zeppelin on his acoustic guitar.
-Greg DiMario performed “Angela” by Lumineers.
-Leia Liberto played “Sober” by Demi Lovato.
-Brendan Murphy and Susanna Hresko performed a duet in singing “Falling Slowly” by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.
-Grant Kunowsky sang “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett.
-And finally, even two of the Spanish exchange students performed “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. These two had just come off of a long day of traveling, which made their fantastic performance even more impressive!
All of the performances that night were phenomenal, and I was truly impressed by how supportive each and every student was of one another. Even if I wasn’t performing (maybe next time), seeing how talented and how supportive our community can be was an awesome experience. I hope to see all of you at the next variety show this spring!
